Fire & Gas System
The systems we supply include the functions of detection, alarming & protection through to plant shutdown.
We believe that all such systems require an extremely high level of detailed design and integration if they are to perform to the required function and be of benefit .
For a wide range of applications, we have designed Fire & Gas Systems based on either solid state or PLC hardware. These vary in size from a few detection points to a couple of hundred detection points.
Many of these applications have combined detection & protection systems. These latters may be designed around various fire suppression media (Inergen, FM200, CO 2 , Foam, Water Mist and etc.). The details of fire suppression systems are provided separately at the end of this section.
The electronic logic used in these applications also varies from simple alarming to complex voting, and shutdown of complete plant or certain zones of the same plant.
Cost involved in offshore and onshore engineering is substantial and we have concluded that in order to obtain value for money, the degree of engineering input should be such as to ensure safety at all times and first time operation. A major contributory factor in achieving safety and first time operation is good conceptual design. Autochim Systems is staffed by qualified engineers who have excellent design backgrounds on offshore oil production platforms, refineries, petrochemical plants and central power stations.
Apart from being representatives of General Monitors Gas & Flame Detection Products, we work closely with well-established and renowned manufacturers such as Akusta, MEDC, VESDA (HSSD Systems), Siemens/Cerberus and Kiddie Fenwal. For the control systems hardware, we have supplied F&G Systems based on the most reputed PLC manufacturers such as Allen Bradley, Modicon, Triconex, Honeywell FSC & ICS Triplex. The selection of PLC hardware depends on the client requirements, as some of the F&G Systems are used for critical applications on total plant shutdown or monitoring of highly combustible & toxic gases. Other factors, such as system reliability, availability and diagnostic capabilities play a role in the selection of PLC hardware. Client specific codes and standards such as IEC, TUV, CENELEC, IEEE and etc. are followed during the procurement or equipment and manufacturing of control system panels. All the software configurations & development of logic is done in-house by our team of Systems Division based in France .
The selection of Fire & Gas detection equipment is based on international Standards such as NFPA, CENELEC and etc. The choice of detectors depends on the type of hazard, technology, location and factors such as wind direction, ambient temperature, humidity and etc.
Equipment supplied by these manufacturers is currently in use in every major manufacturing country and in every major offshore oil and gas production area throughout the world. Sales and service requirements are provided on an international scale by an extensive range of representatives chosen for their technical expertise and product knowledge. |
